When we read of medieval knights and ladies riding out ‘a-maying’ on the first morning of May, this refers to the flowering hawthorn boughs they gathered to decorate the halls rather than the month itself.

Step out in style with this elegant and fabulously textured pewter hawthorn leaf brooch. Our beautiful silver coloured hawthorn leaf is taken from the Holy Hawthorn tree in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey and is one of our most popular designs.

This stunning hawthorn leaf brooch is 5.2 cm (2.0”) tall and is attached with a metal clasp pin.

Every Brooch is handmade from polished, solid lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free. Lead-free pewter is an eco-friendly, non-tarnishing, recyclable metal, allergen friendly and easy to care for. Because the designs are all created in Solid metal, the surface of your brooch will never flake like a silver plated brooch.

Each brooch is packaged in a black presentation gift box and an organza pouch.
